美国国家航空航天局 National Aeronautics and Space Administration，NASA
美国国家航空航天局（英语：National Aeronautics and Space Administration，NASA）[3]是美国联邦政府的一个行政机构，负责美国的民用太空计划、与航空科学暨太空科学的研究。1958年7月29日，美国总统艾森豪威尔签署了《美国公共法案85-568》（United States Public Law 85-568，即《美国国家航空暨太空法案》），创立了NASA，取代了其前身NACA。于1958年10月开始运转。自此，美国国家航空航天局负责了美国的太空探索，例如登月的阿波罗计划，太空实验室，以及随后的航天飞机。自2006年2月，美国国家航空航天局的愿景是 “开拓未来的太空探索，科学发现及航空研究”。美国国家航空航天局的使命是“理解并保护我们赖以生存的行星；探索宇宙，找到地球外的生命；启示我们的下一代去探索宇宙”。在太空计划之外，美国国家航空航天局还进行长期的民用以及军用航空太空研究。美国国家航空航天局被广泛认为是世界范围内太空机构中执牛耳者。美国国家航空航天局透过地球观测系统提升对地球的了解，透过太阳科学研究计划精进太阳科学。美国国家航空航天局注重于利用先进的机械任务探索太阳系中的的所有天体并利用天文观测台及相关计划研究天体物理学中的主题，例如大爆炸理论。美国国家航空航天局与许多美国国内及国际的组织分享其研究数据。

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is the agency of the United States government that is responsible for the nation's civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research. Since February 2006, NASA's mission statement has been to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research." [5] On September 14, 2011, NASA announced that it had selected the design of a new Space Launch System that it said would take the agency's astronauts farther into space than ever before and provide the cornerstone for future human space exploration efforts by the U.S.
